Ok so my friend is probably going to sell me his VHT Pittbull 100/UL for $1500 with the f/s. I cant really decide whether I want to keep the powerball or not. This is the main tone I get out of my powerball right now...

But I am pretty sure I'll be able to get it out of the VHT as well. Also, I dont only play in a death metal band, I play in a punky grind thing as well, which I want lighter tones for and the powerball has a bit of a harder time getting it.

If you guys were in my shoes would you keep the PB? or would you sell it and get the VHT?

I haven't tried the VHT but from what I've heard recorded they are pretty different from the Engl. Sounds like the tone is working for you in the vid, why mess with it?

Honestly if you dig the Powerball for the heavy stuff, keep it and find something that fits the tighter punk style better. I've never found an amp that does it all. Even 3 channel heads tend to have one great sound but several OK ones. You can't go wrong with getting a Marshall 2203/2204 (JMP or JCM800) for the lighter slightly less brooootal tone....or find a Fender Bassman head from the late 60's and use pedals. I've owned a UL and while it gets a great heavy sound it still doesn't do medium/low gain all that well. Not enough snap in the upper mids and top end.

Thats a KILLER price on the UL though,
if you dont like it(cant picture you not)you'll always be able to make $$ on selling it,just so it's mint/near mint.

Will anyone with a VHT be able to do any real high gain clips or anything with em?
