Decided it was time to get back into vintage audio. Both the my monitors and
Amp are from 1978.

The cabs were scratched and dried out. Howard’s restore-a-finish wrks literal magic on old speakers

I replace the caps in the the crossovers with 6uf and 24uf Solennfilm caps. The old electrolytics were way out of spec. The sonic difference was amazing.

Then to top it off, these came with 3 grill cloth choices. I opted for the OEM burnt orange like what’s on the original brochure. Nothing brings out the late 70’s ugly.. I mean glory like the original orange

Here’s the before:

This is what I wanted:

JBL orange. I love it. Some of the old L100’s had the orange waffle screens on them that I dig too. Nice work. I bet those sound good

Scott hasn't been here much since getting these. He's rediscovered his "Alvin and the Chipmunks" vinyl collection.

Ha. I actually need some vinyl recommendations. Looking at the used market is overwhelmed. I won’t have a turntable until early next week
