Yep, the things you get on Thanksgiving out of the blue. One of my old band mates had a video from two club gigs we did back in early 82. Well out of nowhere he emails me to tell me he's done some audio EQ/levels and resynced the audio to the video. This was back when you could use a 50w amp in a club.

So with that disclosure/explanation made, have a good chuckle at my expense at these youtube clips. He's got about two hours of this stuff, I think, so don't be surprised if there's more posted as time goes on. The band's name was Centrfold (purposely mispelled). I toured with these guys for three years, 50 weeks a year, five nights a week, 4.5 sets per night.

 I didn't want you to fix that so people could see me in the thread, Brad! :gethim:

Oh well, since you did it already... WTF, thanks!

My buddy is threatening to fix/sweeten the audio on all of these clips and post them to youtube, so don't be surprised if some really old 80's top 40 tunes pop up on this thread later.

And thanks for kind words on the JP tune, too.

You nailed the solo and came back in on point

You're too kind...thanks.

Jim! That was great! Everytime I've seen you play, you always play like a seasoned veteran. Now I know why... :)

That is killer Jim.

Thanks. We were infamous for speeding up, and adding onto the songs we did.

Wait till "What I Like About You" is posted, you'll see what I mean.

I used to love that band. They opened for Rick Springfield (who I saw live 5 times when I was a kid). :bleh:

Centrfold used to open up for lots of MTV bands...Romantics, 20/20, The Knack, Rita Coolidge, crap I can't remember them all. I've got some of the old posters/flyers somewhere in boxes around here.

One gig we did that was insane was the "The Sundance" club in Parker, Arizona. Big/huge bar on the Colorado River. You could drive your boat up to a bar, dock, come inside to one of five bars they had inside. The stage had six foot fans underneath it that blew air onto a huge dance floor, and it had terraced seating/tables, the whole nine yards. The stage was about 90 feet wide and 25-30 feet deep. I would say you could fit around 2000 people into this place if you packed it.

We played there around Memorial Day weekend, it was packed like a sardine can. And they had wet T-shirt contests on stage, too.

Ahh, the 80's.

Jim, that's AWESOME!!! It's great finding old-school gems like that. Ahh, the beginnings of a rock God!

Love it!!

Nice and RAW which is what ROCK should be!
The over polished stuff is fine....but dont have that REAL feel!
Thanks for posting Jim.... :2thumbsup:

I remember seeing this band somewhere back during the haze of the 80s, did you guys play out around Fontanna/San Bernardino? Might have been at a festival or something. Fun times, live music then was a lot different then, than it is now.

Sure, we played the Red Baron and Palomino Station in Riverside, and the Ashgrove in San Bernardino, as well as a number of other clubs. Hell, I can't remember all their names...Brandy's in Palm Springs, the Golden Sails in Long Beach, etc. The band was over in October of 83, IIRC.
