A couple of questions for those who have experience with both units. Will the voodoo unit operate the voodoo lab amp switcher where you could still run 2-3 amps but only take up one loop on the rack unit? Is the RJM worth the extra coin? I want to get all my pedals off the floor and run everything through midi so I can stop tap dancing. Amps would be a Killer Kali++ 2203, Bassman, and possibly one more Fender.

I would spend the extra coin for the RJM. With the Voodoo labs you need a short patch cable to connect each loop and can only control the GCX with a midi controller.

The RJM can be switched from the front, has 2 amp out lines that you can buy the correct cable for your amp and have your pedals looped. The RG-16 is a great deal if you do not need an upgraded Rack Gizmo or Effects Gizmo. The Quality and Support you get from Ron and Sheri personally is worth the extra coin alone. The ease of use and programing are simple.

I have a voodoo labs amp selector. Could the amps run through it but be controlled by the RJM? Thinking about saving loops for other pedals and utilizing the amp selector I have. Or would that be overkill?

I have 3 amps, here is how it goes… The RJM RG-16 Ver.2 has 8 loops and 2 amp out lines. I only use 1 amp line out because they switch at the same time and the only time it worked correctly is with 2 Bogner amps 20th A XTC and Rev Blue Uber because they use the same channel switching number. Example, those 2 bogner amps require you to press and hold 7 when you power up the RG-16 or Mini amp the first time to set it up for that amp. My mesa Mk V is 8 I think. So I run a Mini amp gizmo for my 20th XTC and RG-16 for the Mk V. That takes care of channel switching.

The Mk V is 4cm with the Axe II through loop 5 (front of amp) and loop 6 (effects loop) and is the main amp so it is on all the time unless I use mute on the amp. Loop 1 feeds the front of the 20th A Xtc. Loop 2 Feeds the Mesa Mk III. The Mk III stays on one channel atm. Effects are only on the Mk V with no tone loss.

Loop 8 is set up for an A/B - A is Guitar Cable plugged into the front of the RG and B is the Line6 G90 wireless. So I can use either and saves on an A/B pedal

I still have 2 loops left over which I might use 1 to switch the Mesa Mk III from clean to lead :D

Lots of Versatility and alot less cables (short patch cables needed for the gcx) also the RJM RG-16, Effects Gizmo and Rack Gizmo have a great buffer built in that you can patch in.

This is just my setup. If you need more loops you could just use it for effects. I had one set up with just pedals before. It took 2 GCX and a GCP to do what I did with one RG-16.

Waiting on the GT Mastermind to complete the rig. :D

i ran an engl invader and a dar forza at the same time with a GCX, i used the "feed through". there was no extra buzz, it sounded great. mechanically speaking? that i dont know, lol. you cant switch between the amps but i just muted whichever amp i wasnt using. though, i had both going at the same time, most of the time.

i havent used the RJM, or if what i did is normal, it worked for me. i just thought i would put it out there
