I currently have the VX module and so far so good, but I'm wondering about the BMan--more specifically the "B" channel?

Does anyone have both that can give me a comparison of the two?

Thanks!

BMan B channel has more gain than the VX B channel. IMO.

The Bman B channel isn't far off from the SL2 A channel.

If I needed to use one module, the BMan would probably be my choice.

Thanks for the replies,

I find the VX-B works well with an SD-1 pushing it, alone it seems a little flat without the brightness of the A channel.

I'm just wondering if the BMan would work better for live use along with the EG5 I have now.
Don't get me wrong, I love the VX jangle but just 1 channel ain't gonna cut it...

VXB is definitely more "compressed" than BMAN - and by that I mean it's not as dynamic and punchy - similar to difference between SL2 and EG3/4. That's nothing bad - I love VXB for a lot of things, but if you want punch and pants-waving, BMAN will get you there. I had a chance to try out a BMAN last week, and I really loved it, but having the T/D and the SL, I think I have my bases covered.

Hmm...I actually find the VX B more dynamic than the BMAN B (at least, in my definition of "dynamic"...more sensitive to pick attack and harder/softer striking of the strings, etc.). I love them both, but the BMAN B is more of a beefy lead tone, to me, where the VX B is more of a cut through kind of lead tone (for lack of better phrases). Love them both.

I agree with you in that context. The VX does let more of the "pick-y-ness" through, even gained out on the B channel. I was referring more to the "punch" - the BMAN gave me the impression of physically shoving more air out of the speaker, if that makes sense. But, I only had a small amount of time on the BMAN, so I am not as familiar with it as the VX.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The BMAN does seem to have that "oomph" that kicks you in the chest.
