I have a VX module that I love. I noticed that the Bass Boost is very subtle and doesn't do as much as my T/D, is this normal? Also the Bright Boost is too bright for me even with the treble off. I've notice a lot of you guys are using the Bright boost. How do you keep from slicing everyone's head off with treble?

The VX module has a traditional vox tone stack in the sense that when the treble is turned up it cuts bass. If you have the treble above 1:00 or higher you will start to hear the effect. This also tends to make the BB switch seem less effective. On my VX, I have the bass boost on 1 and bass set to 9:00.
The Bright switch is what I think gives the VX it's jangle, but with the wrong pickups and speakers or if the treble is up past 1:00 it can be damn bright. You're saying it's too bright with treble off... are you using single coils? What speakers/cab?

Couldn't agree more with you Scott.

I personally like my VX w/ BB / TB switch on 1, bass at 10 oclock, mids at noon, treble at 10 oclock. But I use Scumback M75s... Doesn't slice your head off at all. :)

Weird because I've been playing AC30's for years and the treble was never as bright as the bright boost switch. With the bright boost engaged and the treble off it's still too bright. I'm playing Teles through a Vox cab loaded with well worn in Blues. I wonder If I have the wrong values on my swtich :dunno:

I love the tone of the VX so I don't want to come off sounding like I'm not happy with it. On my module the bright boost is extremely bright.

I know most of the guys have a 5751 in V1 of the module...what tubes are you using?
