I doubt ESP will sell many for those prices. It does seem to be boosting used prices up though. Saw a few grey ones on Ebay go for around $2500 recently. They were selling for maybe $1200 if at all several months ago. :loco:

Truckster is a damn fine guitar. I have a black one and play it quite a bit. I think it was about $2500 when I bought it new when it came out. While it's nice of ESP to be proud enough to jack them up to that price, this must be one of a few they had left in inventory. ESP is good about not flooding the market with some of their signature models.

As for the post above, I have never seen a used one for $1200. Must have been a LTD you were looking at.

I have one and it is my main guitar.Just love it.
Why would you want to sell this guitar?

I'm guessing the MF one is a custom shop model while your's maybe a standard series?
Tht would explain the price difference...

I'm sure that is the reason for the price hike but IMO nothing really changed. The ESP Trucksters have always been fininshed in the ESP Custom Shop. They are now all just stamped Custom Shop for twice the pricetag instead of Standard Series.

Well, bottom line is you still have yours and that makes for a sunny day.

Carry on...

It's pretty much a custom shop only now. They killed off most of the Standard series including signature series.

Hence, $5000.

Must not have been selling enough ESPs in the 2.5k range.

I personally think that ESP feels by making the ESP name more exclusive more will buy in and pay the higher prices.

IMO that probably won't work. Most will not pay Custom Shop prices for the "ESP" logo and alot will look at the rebranded E2 and Ltd. Elite line as subpar. The used market will get great business though.

True. Not really looking to buy any ESP's in the future anyway. Happy with the ones I own and not really interested in what they offer now.

Just think the move and rebranding is strange. IMO a poor business move. I guess time will tell. Fun to discuss though. :)

Interestingly enough, I kinda did the same thing a while back. I have a few ESPs, and one of 'em is the FR-II loaded with BKP MMs. I have tried to "get on" with this guitar, but ultimately, I've come to realize - black and white - I don't gel with trem guitars. So I listed this ax, and albeit I have paid for this guitar and have played it about, um, less than 20 hours and it's dead mint - I thought "sell it". I was getting a lot of action on it (inquiries and some serious bidders) and then I realized that ESP was doing their huge "restructuring" making ESP Customs, ESP Standards, and LTD Elite becoming the main line.

I pulled my FR-II and thought hell, they're moving things around in HQ and until the dust settles, I'm keeping my guitar. It's flawless, and maybe SOME year, I'll actually get on with playing it more than having it as a case queen. Since I pulled the listing, I've had a couple cats offer $2000 for it - not bad considering I was listing it between $1650 and $1850 at the time :dunno:
