Anyone a big fan of WCRs? I have't used them in years but remember them being insanely good! Noticabl difference when you use them.

I had the Fillmores, Goodwood and Shredders. Anyone else use these or compare to some of the other new hand winders out there?

No but I am considering a Darkburst neck and Godwood bridge for my LP.

don't forget Motor City....or the upcoming Egnater pickups. ;)

I just put the American Steele set (which is a Godwood in the bridge and a Crossroads in the neck) into my R9 and the tone is insanely good. Also, I put a Darkburst bridge into both my Suhr and Tyler and the resulting tone gave both guitars more of a beefy sound while still maintaining crisp highs and lows. I like them better than Burstbuckers, Lollars, SD Customs, SD Custom Customs, and SD JBs.

I love WCRs. The Crossroads neck is my favorite neck pickup, and I'll either pair it with a Crossroads bridge or a Goodwood. Smokin' tone!

Killer pickups. I will be putting either a goodwood or Darkburst in my LP soon

Is the Darkburst hotter than the Burstbuckers like the Burstbucker pro?

I was going to have Wolfetone rewind my Gibsons to see how I like that. Wolfe is another great winder like WCR.

Don't forget about Motor City and some other great winders...

I've got a Goodwood/Darkburst set in my R8 and couldn't be happier with it!

I've got the Darkburst in the neck and Goodwood in the bridge. they are the best sounding pups that I've ever tried in my LP's. Clear, balanced and full of harmonics

I Love the WCRs too and have been using the goodwood/crossroads sets in a few guitars for awhile now. Like any other pickup though, ya gotta go through and match them up to your guitar to see if ya get what you want. Case in point, I tried putting a crossroads in the neck of one of my edwards LPs but for what I was going for, the stock duncan 59 was just better all around.

The WCRs are GREAT pickups though. Also checkout the RSguitarworks kits...the combo of both of these make for a great sounding guitar.

I have a set of Goodwoods in my Hamer Standard. Took a little to get used to, but I dig em. I still find myself to be a Duncan guy though for the most part.

Wolfetone is another great winder and I am thikning of having some of my Gibsons rewound by Wolfe. I guess the problem with that is...once you do a rewind...you better hope it works in your guitar. I'll have to think about this....Not like I can go back to the stock pickups if I want.

Problem I have with Duncans is they always seem to bright and most too scooped, other than a few like the JB. Nothing beefy enough.

I don't know that they are hotter but I like the harmonics they produce better. Very full and balanced. The Godwood's are the updated Goodwood's which Jim is recommending in Les Paul's. The Darkburst is what he recommended in Strat style bodies like my Suhr and Tyler. You might want to call him and discuss what tones you are looking for......his recommendations for me were right on.

Great advice!

The RS kits are a necessity with the WCRS.
