These are Weber's versions of the Celestion Alnico Blue and the early Marshall alnicos, respectively.
Does anyone on the board have any experience with them?
I've been experimenting with what speakers I have at home, and I really like the sound of my Vox's Celestion Alnico Blues hooked up to the M4 rig, particularly for the low/medium volume environment at my house. (The G12K-85s in my closed-back 2X12 sound very sterile at low volumes.)
But, the Celestion Blues are only 15 watts speakers.
The Weber alnicos can be had in 15, 30, 50, 75, and 100-watt versions. I'm thinking 30 watts per speaker, perhaps one Blue Dog and one Silver Bell in an open-backed 2X12.
