Wet/Dry/Wet questions. Line level mixers?

I just got this RSP-550 to go along with my MPX-1. I've heard it's better do run everything in parallel rather then series which I would do now. How do I go about this? I know nothing about line level mixers and how they work or how to apply them to my rig. Help me out here fockers.
Also I think I want something for mirco pitch shift... I've heard that the DHP-33 from digitech is a great way to go?
 
For intelligent pitch shifting the DHP-33 and the ips-33b are basically the same machine, if that's what you need.

For the line level mixer, it's just like using a mixing board. Instead of running out to the effect, you run into the mixer/ then from the mixer into your poweramp. Plug each effect into the mixer on it's own channel. Run the effect unit full wet and blend in the amount of desired effect with the mixer.
