I have a Bogner Uberkab and a Mesa OS Recto cab but they’ve been in my studio cab tent for a year and half so it has been a long time since I’ve stood in front of them when playing. I have a Rev 2, what’s your favorite cab for an Uber?

Still the rear-loaded Uberkab. I've tried Mesa and Orange cabs; the V30/75 mix is just about perfect for this thing. It can get a bit fizzy if you go too crazy with the treble, but it's easily dialed back.

I'm using my Soldano 4x12 with the stock Eminence Legends and it sounds great with both my Rev Blue and Rev2 Ubers. Great cab and very punchy. The Eminence speakers have a warmer tone the Celestions.

I'd be very interested to see how the fryette cabs, in particular the fatbottom, pairs with an Uberschall. They're supposedly the tightest cabs available, focused primarily on metal.

Outside of Diezel cabs, I'd have to say IMHO that Fryette make some absolutely incredible cabinets. Their FB and Deliverance are built like tanks. I have 2 Deliverances - I use one primarily and not sure what to do with the other. The stock drivers take some getting used to, they also take some serious breaking-in before they sound "sweet". But they do sound damn fine once softened up a bit. That said, my Uberschalls never got on that well with the cab and its stock drivers. I'm still considering replacing the 4 stock P50e drivers in my spare D4x12 with 2xG12T75 + 2xV30 for an UberKab set up and see how she sounds.

Seriously though - I am surprised Fryette cabs don't get more press. They're incredibly well built.

Yeah Fryette have some impeccable build quality, i'd say top of class even.

Why didn't the Uberschall pair well with it? I know that the fryette cabs have a tendency to exhibit all the low mids and potentially mud from the amp.

Try a V30 x Greenback combo. I've heard good things about that.

I just played my Rev 2 through a Mesa Traditional (Stiletto) slant cab, I friggin loved it. The speakers weren't even broken in and it sounded incredible. I was shocked how perfect the voicing, tone and feel was.

That's through the Mesa Rectifier (Oversized) cab. I think V30's just go really well with the Uber. Haven't heard the uberkab in person, but it always sounds squishy and fizzy in recordings, to me at least ;)

The trick is to move the microphone farther from the dustcap on the 75. I really don't like 75s when they're mic'ed near the center of the cone.

Gotta love that Rev2, it's speaks volumes that of all the amps you own, that's the one you take to play out.

Hey James, what's with the power strip and the wall warts??? Pedal Power II plus fits right under your pedaltrain and saves room and noise!!!

I know. I just slapped it together the other night with what I had laying around. Plus I forever have a little ghetto in me. :)

I'm loving my Bogner slant 4X12 with v30s with my Uber rev blue. Thought I'd end up going for the uberkab but this regular Bog 4X12 sounds too good to part with.

I much prefer your cab with Ubers. I am not a fan of the 75s and think the Bogner 4X12 with all V30s or a mix of Creambacks and V30s is perfection and matches up really well with the Ubers.

I think it's less a function of the cab itself (as the cab is a killer, killer cabinet) and more a function of the drivers - the P50e's just don't sound that great with my TwinJet. The cabinet itself is wicked - and as mentioned - I want to replace the speakers in it to get it to play nice with more amp heads. I know the P50e's have been love/hate for a lot of peeps. I personally really started to groove with them once they got broken in, but they still didn't match up as well or as consistently as, say, the ubiquitous V30 or even the G12K100.

I can't see Greenbacks at 25W matching well with V30s at 60W. I'm interested in seeing how G12T75s match up with the higher rated Creambacks though, or G12K and Creambacks. I'm still a HOOOOGE fan of the G12K100s - those speakers slay!!

Peace,
Mo
