Im thinking that these are both dual channel modules, but have no idea... is there any differences between them? I think that the DLX has been talked about alot more and is more sought after than the D/D, but once again I cant remember. Can someone clear this issue up for me and help me out so I can make a clear desicion before I commit to buy a D/D?

Thanks, Chad

As far as I know, they are the same. I think it was originally called 'DLX' (and the other 'TWIN'), then the two were merged into the T/D module. Later, when they started modding the T/D, they started referring to them as T/T or D/D (or 'dual Twin' or 'dual Deluxe'). That's my best guess. Only other word I've heard is that the DLX and TWIN modules actually sound better than the T/D, but that's a matter of opinion.

I have one labeled DLX and it's cleaner/brighter on channel A than it is on B, which is a little darker/bassy/distorted.

Yeah... thanks for the insight. You wanna sell that DLX? HAHA!

pretty sure the only difference is the D/D used a newer sharpie marker on the faceplate label.

Doubt I'll sell it, but I have been pondering a dual TWIN module. I don't find myself being drawn to Channel B on the DLX, so I might consider it on down the road.

We also sprinkled extra tone flakes into the D/D modules.

Seriously though, the only difference if they are both dual channel versions is that the D/D is a more recently modified T/D, and isn't a regularly stocked module any more. The DLX was an actual thing that we stocked. The tone will be the same out of them.

The T/T and D/D are just modded versions of the T/D, so they all share the same main PCB. However, the DLX does have a different PCB, with a different component layout than that of the [T|D]/[T|D]. Whether that equates to a different sound than that of the D/D I can't say (probably not - at least it's not supposed to according to Ian). Can't speak for the original TWIN as I've never had one . . .

I had my T/D converted into a D/D and it is by far my favorite clean tone! The A channel can be nice & pristine, and it can also just be slightly gritty if you desire. The B channel retains the same characteristics with just the right amount of extra hair.

Never played a T/D, but I love my DLX! I'm never selling that one.

I think I'm coming to the conclusion that even though I don't use ch B for overdrive, I might use it for a nice jazzy clean tone. It's does have a bit more hair to it, but also less treble. Sounds sweet with my neck HB on my Ibanez Artist.
