Just wondering what delay pedals folks are using with their M4 or MOD50 rigs? I am looking to pick up one and just wondered if there were any that were a "must have" or conversely, any that are an absolute "no go". I want something with true bypass. I was looking at the MXR Carbon Copy as it is analog, true bypass and is relatively inexpensive. Either that or the Ibanez analog delay for about the same $$. There is also one by Excalibur in the same range, but I have not heard of them before.

Thanks,
RA

i've got a nova delay, its not true bypass but sounds killer.

the only problem is that the mod50 loop output can sometimes overload the Nova delay which makes it sound like crap. depends how hot you run each of your module volumes.

I used the Boss DD-3 until I went to the Line 6 DL4, neither of which are true bypass I believe. I think the DD-3 is great for what you get and it beats the DL4 in the aspect that you can change your settings on the fly if you want to make cool noises. The DL4's settings are programmed into banks, so tweaking on the fly isn't an option. I also wish that you could save more than three delays in the DL4, but I manage to get by with that.

Oh yeah, and I don't have an M4 or a MOD50... yet. :D

I think that you have to calibrate your nova!!

Eventide Timefactor - I dont know whether its True Bypass or not and I dont even really care. It sounds absolutely amazing. I had a Boss DD-20 and a TC Nova Delay before and while I liked the DD-20, neither either comes close to my ears.

Been using a TC G-Force for years for reverb, delay, chorus and pitch and i am really happy with it. Never had a single problem with it and it sounds great.

I Run it thru the parallel loop.

I would love to try a TC 2290!!!!

i did, and it didn't help. its just too hot.

IF you like Analog delays, Hands down try the the Moogerfooger MF104Z. IF you don't want to dish out $700 try the newly updated Carbon Copy... which is nice... but very few features. A step inbetween, with it's own sound are the Malekko Light and Dark versions that have expression pedal inputs to the amount of repeats... they come in 300 and 600 ms, and rumors abound that a 1000+ ersion is coming out.

The Moog can take some seriously hot signals in both the external loop and the input. Hands down the best delay I have ever played.

I use my G-system - not just a delay pedal, though.

Into my mesa 20/20 right now, but I'm thinking of switching back to my peavey 50/50 despite the weight increase.
