What do you prefer.... phaser or flanger used with gain?

Phaser is just such a great way to make a lead part pop.
 
Phaser guy here. I love it on low during some crunchy rhythm/alternative stuff.
 
I've used both at times and they both have their place. However, generally I prefer flanger especially into some gain. It can sound glorious if you get the right settings.
 
Phaser, and in front of the amp.

I do also have a flanger in my loop, but I almost never use it.

Would also throw a vibrato pedal into the mix for this argument as well.
