I've seen tons of discussion, but, no mention of tubes inside.

I thought it was 2 EL84s and 2 6V6s.

That's what the Rebel 20 has.

How can they squeeze 10 more watts out of the same tube complement???

bump.

Please, can somebody give me a definitive answer.

Jeff?

Bruce?

Same as the 20 2 6v6 and 2 el 84.

Jeff already answered.

That's not the question I wanted answered.

I want to know how they can squeeze 10 more watts out of the same exact tube complement as the Rebel? The Rebel 30 has 30 watts.

We hired a couple of wattage gnomes to handle things for us

I'm not amp/electronics savvy, but I know (off the top of my head) my old 5150 combo had two 6L6s for 60 watts. The head had 120 watts w/ 4 6L6s vs. what you'd think is the standard 100 watts w/ the same tubes. I think my Zinky Mofo was either 50 or 60 w/ 2 6L6s. So, it's not uncommon... Or maybe the Rebel 20 is rated low.

6V6 has about half the power of a 6L6, so that's not really a viable comparison. an EL84 possesses similar wattage characteristics to the 6V6.
