Hey everyone, I own a Diezel Einstein and I'm not as happy with the tone as I'd like using my Gibson Les Paul Special with P-90 pickups. What guitar do you find is best with yours? Strat, LP Custom, etc? Thanks!

Chris

p90 pick ups are not my favourite. I used a gibson pic up in my lp custom. I think it is a t500? cant quite remember. I havnt used it in an Einstein yet but it goes great through a mesa and my other amps too. I am sure if you like that mid range rock sound you will probably like that pick up. I will check and get back to you ih I am wrong on the model number.

With P90s you are somewhat limited to which pickups to use. My Eini sounds great with my LP Special with BareKnuckle Pickups P91/92s which are slightly hotter than the stock Gibson P90s.

Maybe I'll find time to do some clips...

Ok these two have just been done with my Gibbo LP Special as mentioned above:

Should give you an idea on how BKPs can sound in there.

If you need something more heavy, maybe go for a set of EMG-P81/60 (like EMG81/60 but in P-shape).
By coincidence I am selling such a set in case you want it let me know :o)

My favorite souding guitars with the einstein are my ibanez S540 Fm (mahogany, maple top)with PAF and my strat japan reissue 62. The sound amazed me every time i played.

I use a Gibson SG and a Les Paul Custom, both with SD'59s. Also a Gibson V with an original PAF. All these guitars are older 70's models and sound absolutely killer through my Einstein.

I recently picked up a Schecter C-1 elite (stock pu's) and it sounds like total ass, so I will soon put some '59s in it as well and see how it fares. If it doesn't make the cut, it's gone.

IMO, nothing touches an old Gibson with '59s; NOTHING!!! HAHAHAHA!!!!! :D

I've got several different guitars and all work well with the Einstein. What do you feel is missing with the sound you're getting?
