look at the heat that thing dissipates - it has bowed the plastic vents on top

i knew marshall made 200W heads at one point in time but i never knew the history or the years behind them.

maybe a few of the more experienced marshall experts can chime in here?

it has been gone through it seems, that power cable and a few other rear connectors do not look stock at all.

Everything is stock there. It has a 600 ohm XLR output on the back...

  Marshall's answer to the Peavey Mace perhaps?

250 watts of tubed headroom - id be too pussy to turn it to 10 and hit an A. probably trip the circuit breaker in your house

It's been for sale for 4 months now. Seller won't move on price. He spent 400 in fees already

That's not a Major. They stopped making the Major in 1974. I think the Marshall book says AC/DC used those amps at one time. I believe they're pretty rare.

2000 Lead Series

"The 2000 Lead and 2001 Bass heads are probably the loudest and most powerfull Marshall tube amps ever built. These amps were introduced in april 1981, around the same time as the JCM800 series. It isn't clear if these amps were actually part of the JCM800 series. The schematics suggest they are, but you won't find JCM800 printed on the amps.
Special high power version of the speaker cabinets were made for these beasts."

I acually have the schematics for this amp on my iMac somewhere. Will post them if anyone is interested!

The Bass version is 375 watts IIRC!

2203's are loud enough, you'd need to be in another building to play this fucker!

The model 2000 is a lead guitar valve amplifier rated at 200 watts, but giving a minimum of 250 watts before distortion, and much, much more after distortion sets in. :worship: Would this be a tad loud for "Bedroom" use?
