My friend has had one like it (red, HSS) since the early '90s. I think he paid around $500 new for it. That's about as high as I'd go for the one in the picture, if I wanted it. If I was in love with it, maybe more.

You're right, that is what they went for new.
What I listed is what they are going for nowadays.
Most of the guys who have them now are either holding on to the ones they have, or snatching up every one they see.
Is it just because Shawn Lane played them, or are they really that good?
I always kinda dug that Ibanez Ghostrider that Lane played.
Never got to try one of those either.

If it's minty, $850-$1000.

That sounds about right, prices for charvies are getting higher.. Used to be around $500-$800 or more for 750xl's, right? Awesome guitar though

"What did he bid?"

"He bid $574.99."

"I bid $1.00"

(obscure Price Is Right reference)

Is the trem sticking or is anything stripped threadwise?
any chips in the paint?

Thansk!!

great guitars. i have 2 of them. I saw one go for $1500 on the bay. I bought one for $700 and stole one for $300

is that a model7?
I had one like it,,reverse shark inlays, decent top.
It was kinda dull sounding..no tone of it's own to speak of.

What? People are actually paying $1600 for import Charvels nowadays? Thanks, but no thanks.

Now that Charvel doesn't produce those guitars/headstocks/logo's anymore people go NUTS over it. I'd never pay more than $500 for any of those guitars though..
