Eventide Pitch Factor

Agreed

I also think it serves the purpose of your second "what is the best" post.

it does Octaver, Pitch, whammy really well. midi controllable as well.

Yeah, but Ive been leaning towards a digitech harmony man pitch shifter... I heard a fellow forum members you tube clip through his VH4 and that thing didnt lag or screw with the tone very much at all. I was highly impressed. Also I have been tempted by the Eventide modfactor and timefactor, but dont mind getting the "BEST" effect I can based off buying single pedals alone that can give me that analog tone, especially if they are better sounding than a multi-effect digital unit.

I hear you, but I have owned the Digitech, and I own the Pitchfactor, an Eclipse and a GTR 4000.
The problem with the Digitech is NOISE.
And it does not track nearly as good as the Eventide.
I LOVE my Whammy 1 and Whammy 2 because of how ugly they can get.
But if you want a quiet pedal that tracks as good as it gets, you're not gonna beat the Pitchfactor

anyone else feel this way about the pitchfactor? I am getting close to looking for some used pitchfactors and timefactors now.

Once I got past the pretty steep learning curve (and purchase prices) of all 3 Eventide stomps, I would never look elsewhere nor ever consider ridding my FX rig of them. They are perfect - high tech - studio grade - transparent - rugged - smart - and very, very programmable. These 3 stomps alone would be force enough for me on any session. Seriously. Once you get them figured out, you'll need nothing else - I mean that.

you can listen to the digitech harmony man in my video below. I think its the best one for the money.

Excellent playing and demo.
You have a real cool style of playing.
I think the Digitech suits what you are doing very well.
But I still think the Eventide is way better sounding
Kick ass video
Thanks for posting that.

I have owned both and can honestly say the digitech tracks much better than the eventide. That being said, the eventide won due to the sheer amount of awesome effects, tweakablity and sound clarity. Plus, the eventide can be updated through usb and so far they have listened to the guys on their forum when considering updates.

Great thread you started.

So for the best pedal to get the Boston sound, harmoized and layered guitars, will the Eventide or others mentioned get you solid in there for Don't Look Back? Stuff like that?

Thanks,

Softail

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^THIS!!!!!!!!

Huge HUGE reason to go with Eventide - I've been a devout fan of theirs for a couple years now and the beauty is, their products are constantly under revision at the software/firmware level, the support is awesome, the forum has been an incredible adjunct to ownership, and albeit I KNOW there are a mess of other, potentially "comparable" effects out there - I went with the one that was MOST studio worthy and MOST studio used. Eventide - there's a reason they've been in the studio's for over 4 decades.

2 years later, this thread comes back from the dead.

FWIW, I still have the PitchFactor and haven't even been in the slightest bit interested in any other pitch effect.

Just sayin'
