I have been looking to buy a PT100 and I see people ads with "this is not a conversion model" what does this mean?

buying a brand new PT100 today isnt the same as last year?

im confused...

There is no difference if it is a full conversion, conversion meaning upgraded from a different version. Everything is rebuilt to spec
Unless the person opted not to pay extra for the new panels

It's not a conversion when the actual amp was built ground up as a PT-100. A conversion is when someone sent their OD-100 amp into John for conversion to PT-100 specs...They are all OD100 amps...Just different features and voicings..

I owned a conversion and never owned a ground up build PT but my hunch is there's no difference between the two?? I think the only difference would be is the never ending thought in your mind.."I wonder if they are the same"...lol!! I'm waiting on the "tubes up" version of the PT and gonna grab one when or if they ever see the light of day

Kurt......I showed you the simple conversion mod to a tubes up version :D

Here is the first Suhr PT with tubes up! It was the prototype for the current PT50/100's. Its basically Channel #2/boost (Channel#3) of the currect PT amps. The only thing marshall is the headshell, transformors and chasis. I did get a chance to compare it to a currect PT100. Although mine is a PT50 Proto, they sounded very close... mine sounds a bit more open, but that could have been a number of things... thats how close they were...

PT50 (Tubes UP)
Whomp #2
Solid State FX Loop
Custom made board hand wired.

Enjoy,

Matt

Sweet !!!!

That sound you hear is Kurt, going "DAMMIT"..........
