What OD/Distortion pedals have you found work best with the Shiva or 20th Shiva? I have the 20th with EL34s.

My fear is I will get to a gig and will have an amp failure and will be forced to run through a club's amp. In that case I could run direct into an amp clean with a distortion pedal. Another scenario was if we had to play very low volume...I could use a distortion pedal into the Shiva's clean....but I guess these are all unlikely since my Shiva and VHT ST boith can sound good at low vol's.

I like the Xotic BB but hear the OCD kills!

Xotic BB and RC work great. OCD is another good one.

Those are what I use on my XTC pedal board,,
The Barber direct drive and ep boost are on my other board and they are sweet too.

OCD, BB, and the Mk.4:23 all in a line...

Done.

I use it for my 20thA XTC, but it's still the catsass as far as tonal drivers go.

Peace,
V.

I have a Fulltone OCD and Xotic AC Boost in series, both with a slight added gain. Good pedals that work as advertised. Neither have improved my playing, as I always hope the next new gear purchase will do....

GAWD, ain't that the truth... All new gear does is reinvigorate my zeal to play. But ya, I always remind myself, all my mentors and icons didn't get to where they are by buying shit - they got there for the most part with next to nothing gear-wise, and truckloads of patience, diligence and determination.

Peace,

For my Regular Shiva I found that the BB works pretty good (So does a TS9) as a boost for the dirty channel and some hair on the clean channel, and for a back up pedal rig I always take a MI Audio Crunch Box and a DD3 to the gig, just in case something goes horribly wrong. I also love the Radial Plexitube, but it is pretty expensive and has to use it's power supply.
