What preamp for Ampeg VH140C tone?

Any suggestions on a preamp that can sorta cop this tone?

I can get pretty close with my prophesy II, but would like to get even closer :D

I run through my 2/50/2 of course. :rock:
 
peavey rockmaster.? at one time years ago, i had the vh140, and my other guitarist had the rockmaster in his rack, and we had similar tones.

Hmmm...I had a Rockmaster. Like it quite a lot. In fact, I may pick up another :lol: :LOL: ....but I didn't really hear the VH140C in it. :no:
 
i don't think they sound alike as much as can acheive similar tones. both have an ass of gain, and do death metal well.
