What Speakers/Configurations Are You Using With You Mod 50?

2x12, 4x12, or 4x10? Also what speakers or combination of speakers do you use. V30's seem to be the preference. I just am not a big fan of them. They seem to be a decent compromise between Amer and Brit tones. Anyone try Celestion Blue's with their Mod 50?
 
Running the oversize Egnater 1x12 (as seen in my avatar) with a Classic Lead 80 as recommended by the shop. Big, clear, and full yet tight sounding cab. Biggest 1x12 Ive ever heard. Perfect compromise for gigs: Big on tone, light on weight. Someone at my last gig said my tone was "monsterous". I agree with them. :D
 
I"m using a 412 with Weber 1225's with pre rola doping and a Jenkins 212 with a Warehouse V30 and Scumback H75........that is until I get my super sized Eggie 112 as EWSEthan mentioned...... :rock: :thumbsup:
 
2 1x12 egnater w/ the cl 80,s

Also just bought a marshall 4x12 vintage/modern cab with celestion g12c greenback 25 watt speakers.
they are only available in those cabinets.
(unless your order them for repair..sssshhhh....)

They are very different than the traditional g12m greenbacks.
I remember my first reaction. I thought these do for speakers what the differance tube amps make over solid state.

everyones owes it to themselves to give them a listen.

Sorry man, but I dont know. Ive never heard G12T75s.
 
I play a MOD100 (Twin, EG5, SL2, COD, MHG) and use the following cabs:

1) Bogner ST 4/12 with Ted Weber "Stan Spec" 1225's
2) EVH ST 5150 III 4/12 with Heritage Greenbacks

Could not be more happy with my tone......

I've got the Herbert, 5152, 5153, JVM, Cameron modded Marshalls, and have a MOD50 (EG5 and SL2) coming.
412 Cabs include the EVH, 2 5150's, a '72 Marshall, 800W VHT (front load) and a THD212.
Ran my bud's MOD100 through the EVH and the 5150's - ROCKING tone - no doubt.
 
is there anyone else that has used both 80's and t75's that could give a quick comparison?

I'm using a Stone Age 2x12C semi open back with Celestion Heritage 65's. This cab is outstanding, and the speakers deliver sweet clean tones and crushing overdrive. I feel he 65's give the best tones when considering clean and overdrive. For overdrive tones I like V30's, and for cleans I like Greenbacks. The 65's have the best qualities of both speakers.
I use the TD and SL2 modules, and plan on getting the VX and EG5 this year.

Semi open back? Do you have a pic of the back side? Is this what you would get if you order teh Egnater 2X12? That is just sweet!

I use the Eggie 112 with the CL80 and dude just ask anyone it's KILLA,I want another!!!!
 
how do the eggie cabs compare to the avatar speaker cabs. i've been VERY VERY happy with them. I wonder what the CL80's would sound like in the 2x12 avatar cab I use. I've never heard CL80s. I'm not a big fan of V30's typically for my main tone as I don't think they have enough umph. I've always liked G12T75's, but am very open to trying new things. Maybe I'll have to get 2 CL80's to try out.

I did get a set of Warehouse V30's and put in my openback 2x12 (my 2nd 2x12) and it sounded great. I know I'll keep the G12T75's in my oversized Marshall 4x12 because I just love the way it sounds. But I might want something else :).

Any thoughts? Or should I just sell my open back 2x12 and get 2-1x12's w/ CL80's...

Decisions...decisions ;). man i've got g.a.s. ;)

I got a Eggie 4 x 12 with v30's and it is a super sounding cab. I just need another one to stack em' high. I'm either getting a 1 x 12 or another 4 x 12 soon when the E2's arrive.

The Avatars compare very well to the Egnater cabs. I had both for a while--sold the Avatar but would like to get another one. I will say though that the Eggie 4x12 is the best sounding big cabinet I've ever owned. I really want a 1x12 though.
