Running my 100w 2203 into an Ubercab with Vintage 30's and G12H's 30's in an X.
Great sound, but quite pushed in the lows and highs with not much midrange. I have to really crank the mids to get it where I like.
I also have a friend's sealed straight Marshall BX cab with M75 Scumbacks that have the warmth I want, but not quite tight enough.
Should I sell the Bogner and get a Marshall clone cab built to late 60's specs?
I hear good things about the G12-65's for JCM800's, maybe them or clones of them for a custom made cab?

Any recommendations greatly appreciated.
We play 90's style heavy alternative rock.
Thanks.

Here's the amp and cabs in question.
I A/B/Y the Marshall (dirt) with the early 90's Vox AC30 (wet).

try 2 V30 and 2 Creamback 65 - or if you want more low end the Scumback J75

If you want to add mids, why not V30's all the way around?
Or maybe the V30 bottom/Greenback top combo.

Are V30's pushed in the mids? Or are G12H's mid scooped?
It seems every heavy dirt cab out there comes with V30's, do they just work well for these kind of amp/cab combinations?

I know that these late 70's/early 80's JCM800's came out with G12-65's.
Is the modern offering the Creamback 65?
How do 65's compare to V30's?

The V30 is prominent in the upper mids to cut through the mix.
The H30 Anniv. speaker is more relaxed in the mids and it has increased lows & highs.
Those 2 speakers are mixed because they seem to balance each other out across the full range.
The G12-65 is now a Heritage series reissue...
