What tubes do you all prefer in the 20th Shiva? EL34? KT77?

EL34? KT77? 6550? Why?

I am thinking of trying something different. Right now I have EL34s and am going to try KT77s tonight.

If I decide to try 6550s, I will have to mod the amp to be able to accept those tubes. Not sure it is worth it, since this is the amp I use for modded Marshall tones and any Marshall type amp I used with 6550s never felt right. People claim this amp was designed for the big bottles, but Bogner says the amp works just fine with El34s. In fact, they ship some with EL34s now to dealers.

Thoughts?

I don;t feel like doing the resitor mod on my Shiva so for now I am trying KT77s!

If I get an Event Horizon, I might make that my EL34 amp.

My Shiva has KT88's. How do the 6550's differ?

Are the 6550s still pretty stiff like KT88s?
