What usually causes a fuse to blow out?

Was playing in stereo a few minutes ago with the Mako Mak2 and the Elmwood M90 with a A/B/C pedal, so I took the Elmwood out and left it on and was just playing through the Mako to change some settings, then the Elmwood just turned off out of nowhere. Pulled the fuse and looks like it burnt out. Anything else I should look out after replacing fuse before I turn it back on?

Also for Elmwood owners, in the Fuse holder, is the second fuse just a place to hold a spare?

I believe bad power tubes can cause fuses to blow. Could be mistaken, though.

Fuck I think your right, the far left KT88 is glowing bright on standby

They can go bad after being around for a long time, for example a 70s marshall but on a newer amp I think it would be a power tube going bad or bigger problems.

It looks like its just a power tube problem, I replaced the fuse and it turns on, but that power tube shouldnt even be glowing that bright when its on standby right?

If its glowing really brightly.. more so than the other powertube, then turn off the amp and try another set of tubes.

I would also try swapping the current 2 powertubes around and see if the bright one is still glowing bright even when in the other tube socket! That way you can work out if its the tube causing it, or the amp
