Want to use one the two Ernie Ball volume pedals I have, I have the regular guitar one and I also have the 25k ohm version....which is the best to use in the loop of my einstein or Herbert? Thanks

Which one sounds best?

25kOhm pedal. 10k would be even better.

Would that suggestion apply to the VH4 and Schmidt also? If so, it's a relief because I was worried I would be left with a peice of useless gear once I de-EMG all my guitars

All loops are low impedance, so the lower the impedance, the better and the less loss you have - thats for all Diezels.

So if low ijmpedance is better, wouldn't the normal guitar one be better? The 25k ohm is designed for keyboards etc and would be 25,000 ohms, yes? I'm just asking since I really am not sure what the impedance of the regular guitar pedal is, it's designed to go in front of amp after guitar. Thanks for the help.

now im confused? some people are saying 25k and some are saying 250k is best?

id really like to know a definitive answer if anyone has experience because i also need to know which kind of volume pedal would be "technically" best to run in the fx loop?

i have a active emg pickups in some of my guitars and i use passive d-activators in other guitars. i use a vh4. i want to use a volume pedal, in the fx loop at the end of my modulation fx chain so i can do "swells" for ambient style music. im just not 100% sure i should even use the volume pedal in the loop? im using the parralel loop btw.

my signal chain goes:

GUITAR > tuner > fuzz > comp > wah > pitch > octave > EQ > noise gate > FRONT OF AMP

fx loop goes:

Danelectro Coolcat Tremolo > Boss PH2 Phaser > Ibanez AF2 Flanger > TC Electronic Nova Modulator > Boss RV5 Reverb > Line 6 DL4 Delay > Boss RE20 Echo > Boss RV5 Reverb

and im thinking of running the EB VP JR after the last reverb in the chain. so is that a good place? 25k or 250k? and if its in the FX loop and i have my paralel knob on the vh4 set to 100% wet does that mean when im using the volume pedal in the loop it will also "swell/kill" my "dry" signal going into the front of the amp? or am i better to have the volume pedal in the front chain somewhere?

cheers guys! :)

A guitar input is high impedance, 1M Ohm --> 100-250k Ohm pedal
A loop is low impedance. Less than 10kOhm --> 10-25k Ohm pedal.

thanks duesentrieb

will 25k vs 10k be much different do you think?

didn't want to confuse. just wrote that a classic volume pedal for guitar is 250k... which is higher than the loop one
