What volume pedal for use in the loop?

For my XTC (or any of my amps for that matter) and for use in the loop, should I use the 25K version (high Impedance I'm assuming) of the Ernie Ball volume pedal or the normal 6180 guitar level version? Thanks
 
Seriously, all the hot shots here and no one knows which pedal is correct to use in an FX loop?
I'm surprised, C'mon, someone must have some knowledge on this subject....where is everyone using their vol pedals? I don't go in front because I don"t want it changing gain, just volume, and it's before fx such as verb and delays so as to get great fade ins etc etc. Anyone who has even an opinion, it would be appreciated. Thanks
