Since the Modular series is Egnater's masterpiece and obviously the modules are Egnater's take on some famous amps/tones, what could be describe as Egnater's tone ? something that you can hear on an album and right away know it's an Egnater?

Do the new Guitar Center series amps have a more unique Egnater tone?

I'd say the Egnater signature tone is the TOL/EG3/4. All of Bruce's designs have a certain smoothness in the midrange that meshes so well with the other frequencies. Even when the mids get pushed higher, they don't sound honky or piercing.

In my limited experience with the GC amps, they all have that special sauce happening but the overall tones are different flavors. The Rebel, Tourmaster and Renegade all fall in different places in the spectrum tonally.

With all the Egnater amps I've every owned (6), you can set all the tone controls on 12:00 and it sounds excellent, unlike a lot of other amps. To me that's an indicator of a well designed circuit. You don't have to get extreme with the controls to dial in your sound--unless that's what you're after.

All of Bruce's amps that Ive played all share a common element--Excellent tone and feel!

When playing the renegade, you can definitely tell it's a close blood relative of the EG34 and SL2, for sure. I'm used to the EG34 and SL2, and the Renegade definitely felt immediately comfortable to play.

I think the same.

The Ie4 is the Egnater classic for me.

Agreed.

The Rebel does have a distintive awesome tone to it though, and with the popularity of that amp growing, that could become the "Egnater" tone.

Correct answers found above.

IE4 Channel 3/4 or EG3/4. I think the Rebel captured that sound in it's own way too.

No argument here! When I think Egnater...I'm thinking EG3/4 .. TOL and IE are the pre-cursors and the heritage.
