No real difference.. It is a lot of cork sniffing, I think. People got pretty pissy about some changes that started happening once Fender took over / around the time Fender took over (price increases, endorsements deals being dropped, options on guitars scaled back) so they simply blame it all on Fender.
I will say that I have been seeing more frequent posts about the quality control on some of the USA Selects / USA Customs on the Jackson forum though as of late, but I think that has less to do with Fender and more to do with Jackson trying to push out more and more guitars. Custom Shop is always ridiculously backed up. I think the wait list right now is 2 years. You rush, you make mistakes.
The price of used Jacksons haven't quite caught up with the current new pricing, so I'd not even consider buying a new one at this point.
