If you were getting kinda ice-picky...sharp tone, what would you turn down? Presence or treble.? I never quite knew the tonal difference.

Ive got a Diezel Herbert Btw..

I'd probably reach for the presence first, but it depends on your settings really. What are your eq's set at right now?

Everything is pretty much centered except for the treble at 10pm
My presence is at 9 oclock and my deep is at 11.

I really kind of want to know what the tonal difference is between the two though..
The manual says the frequency that one of them affects but not the other.
Which one to cut out more of a harsher tone.?

Honestly the best achievement to cut harshness for me was Bogner OS 212, but in case I had to use a knob I'd reach out for treble if it's ice picky like you said, but if it's midrange harsh, presence would be the key in my experience.

I find that harshness that you're probably talking about is in the mids. On all the different amps I've owned, I find if I pull back the mids a hair, it smoothes out. I in no way scoop the mids, but usually find the sweet spot is between 11:00 & 12:00. Especially if you're using V30's. On my Herbert, I ran the Channel 2 mids at 11:00, and Channel 3 mids at 12:00. My presence was at 12:00.

I would that deep up to a 12-1 oclock and see how that helps. That should help fill-in the sound and offset some of the high end. You bass, mid, treble, and presence settings don't scream harsh to me though. I'd tweak the mid cut some too.

Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the Treble controls the high frequencies at the "pre-amp" stage, and the Presence controls the ultra-high frequencies at the "power amp stage". I also believe that it is the same for the bass control vs. the deep control.
