Dumpin' the Randall, going all Eggy now, huh Chode?

For what it' worth, I have a Carvin PA that sounds great, and has been going strong for about 3 years now. Rock solid.

Yeah I performed triple bypass surgery on my rack yesterday. I'm finding that while the RM4/M4 combo sounds incredible blended it is just overkill in a 2 guitar band. That and I need a PA as first and foremost I am a frontman. I figure I can move the Triton Rack back in there and most likely a Digi002 rack if I can find one around cheap.

If I'm not mistaken either you or your counterpart just hocked some in-ear monitors? How were they? I am highly considering this option for the click live.

IEMs are only good if your gigging situations meet these criteria:

1. You have a competent soundman who can provide you with your own instrumental/personally tailored mix to your IEM unit.

2. You have more than 10 minutes to set up your gear.

(I'm the lead vocalist, so my requirements are different than if I were just a guitarist/backup vocalist.)

Most places that WE play at, if you're not set up in 10 minutes, you run the risk of decapitation. And when you ask the soundguy for a feed from the board, even if he knows what you're talking about, most times they won't oblige. They'll just be like "uh, no, we can't do that." Cuz they're lazy.

I tried to have it set up where my vocal mic line went thru the IEM system. THAT worked great. But trying to use a SM58 on a small tripod stand as a "stage" mic... just didn't work. I felt really isolated and lost up there.

My solution: a Shure Beta58, bring it to every gig, eat that motherf*cker like an ice cream cone, and crank the monitors. I can get them ALOT louder before feedback with the Beta58.

Just re-read your post.

for a CLICK, and nothing but, you'd be fine with IEMs. BUT... they'll block out your guitar sound. You'd still need to mix in some guitar feed as well.

Thanks for the advice. I am certain I will have my own sound guy so I'm not too worried there. I find it somewhat hard to believe anything can block out the sound of my guitar!  Maybe my big mouth. :D

If you're a n00b (under 50 posts) I am genuinely disinclined to want to do business with you.
Funny. I'm not sure it's the best criteria but...whatever..

Yeah I know makes me look like a jerk. I have noticed an influx of new members recently and as I've had less than stellar experiences on fleabay, CL, and even here I simply prefer it this way. Mainly because I can sift through old posts and determine more about the person. There has been a major scam on most of the other forums at some point. I fear that inevitably it will happen here as well. If my methods come off as misguided and ignorant I apologize.

I will say to my credit though that the initial draft of the ad had that part in this size font. You'll notice that shortly thereafter I received a timely visit from the n00b fairy.  I made sure that phrase was easy to read as a result.

 I realise now you're trying to trade some gear (not selling)and it makes sense in that case.I really hope this forum stays "clean"...Best of luck with your trade
