I've owned a Diezel V412R for about a year. Its rear-loaded with Diezel Custom Speakers. I bought it with my VH4 as a matching half-stack. In fact, I just sold the cabinet on Ebay.
Since I've had the Diezel Cabinet, I find myself gravitating towards my other 4x12 cabs much more frequently. The Diezel Cab itself is awesome. Top-notch in materials, specs, and quality. I think what turned me off was the the speakers. Diezel Custom Speakers sound very different than Vintage30's. The Diezels seem to have a "fuzzy" sound. They were tight, clear, with a sparkling fuzzy top end. Some people may prefer this. The low end is good (big and tight). Tweaking the amp (mids, treble) really made them sing. These Diezels are nice for metal, shredding, lead, etc. Great tone can be acheived, but my preferences lean to a slightly darker tone.
I'm not biased towards Celestions either... I currenly use an array of Splawn 4x12 and Genz-Benz G-Flex 2x12 cabs. Those cabs are all loaded with meticulously selected Eminence speakers in various configurations (x-patterns, etc.). I've been through all the Celestions (Greenbacks, 75's, etc.). I have V30 loaded Bogner and Orange 4x12 cabs that I'll never sell. The Diezel Customs are great, but other speakers better fit MY preferences.
I've always wanted to put 2 Vintage30's in the Diezel Cabinet at an X-pattern with the Diezel Custom Speakers, or just replace all four of them. I know I could've made this cab sound great for me, but I decided to sell it with plans to buy other gear for my rig (can you say 2x15
). Overall, I wish I would've ordered the cab with Vintage30's. I wanted to check out the Diezel Customs, at least I know what they sound like, enabling me to submit this review... hope it helps!
