No real points here, just mindless conspiracy theories.

Kinda reminds me of the "Modeling is dead" series by Tone Junkies then when you watch it, it's actually about the modeling in fashion industry.

live music here is mostly for boomer and genx tourists; cover bands, wedding bands with a few exceptions.

couple of jazz clubs with live music.

I saw Polyphia here last September (2023)

no kids forming bands.
few places for kids with bands to play live shows.

no interest, no demand, no money, no places
This day and age ... you're better off busking a street corner with some decent tracks to play over

I can't agree.

There are many kids striving to learn...

I think there's just as much kids playing instruments and in bands as ever. Tik Tok and YouTube make it easier to find lone artists than bands because it's easier to play something alone than to get a band together.

school of rock is like music camp.

what bands have come out of that, or social media?

What age bracket specifically? What country? Friends or family? Type of venue? Dare I say even more kids learning music today than ever.

plenty of that going on for years; little materializes out of it in terms of musicians, bands, music, touring, etc.

Back in the '70's guitars were everywhere. On TV, for sale in grocery stores! Most of the small neighborhood music stores are gone. It takes a lot of dedication to become good at playing guitar. I don't know if today's kids have the attention span for it. Unless one of their parents plays guitar, the guitar just doesn't have the exposure it used to have. What do I know!

i remember when every town had a bowling alley filled with leagues every night, i remember drag strips within a half hour of each other, i remember kids riding bmx bikes instead of electric scooters, i remember kids looking forward to getting a car and not using uber, i remember having to steal pornos from the variety store downtown cause that was the only way a 12 year old could see some titties... none of these things are going on anymore either :dunno:

So the video is about how bands have only made it to #1 in three weeks thus far in the 2020s.

It’s interesting data, but I guess people didn’t watch the video and just wanted to voice their opinions.

I think country music still has a few bands ?

The neo-funk jam band scene is huge around me. All young dudes playing a PRS and fender 1x12. theres a couple clubs in my town with these kind of bands literally every night. that scene certainly didnt get the memo there are no bands anymore

around here, for the tourists, we have mostly boomer and genx bands playing "all the hits of the 60s, 70s, 80s" - rock or country. some death metal kids with no place to play where adults would go;

there are or were a couple of 20-something bands with a good mix of covers and originals, but the clubs that hosted them didn't survive the pandemic; one in town re-opened but is struggling; they have regional and touring acts, live music Tuesday - Saturday; but more DJs there these days

we have a couple of good jazz clubs that pull in some international jazz acts

another I know the owner, saw Dick Dale there, and they have a good mix of underground music, faded stars of the past, and regional/national/global club acts - this is the only place that is open to all kinds of music.
