Everyone always talks about the Vx and the T/D, but why is the Bassman the red-headed stepchild of the cleaner modules? I just got one in the mail yesterday and its AMAZING!!!! :rawk:  :inlove:

It reminds me alot of my buddies Shiva clean which I have always been a little jealous of. Basically, compared to the T/D, the Bassman just sounds so WIDE and BIG. T/D is still GREAT and is the bomb for wet arpeggios and when you need a real pristine CLEAN clean. But the Bassman definitely has more mids and is just so rich and springy. Im literally blown away as I hadnt really considered this module for the longest time. But its put a permanent smile on my face. The most natural pairing is probably with the SL2 and that combination is an absolute killer. Channel B will give you Andy Timmons Electric Gypsy all the way to AC/DC.

This module is a sleeper, but it shouldnt be. Wheres all the love?

I been sayin' man I been sayin!

Love mine. +1B'manLove right here.

Oh yea! the Love is on the list, no doubt.

Actually, after the new year, We need two more amps in addition to our Mod 50 for church.

I was thinking of getting the Tourmaster 4100 and the fender Bassman RI
But if the Bassman is that great in the egnater module and the Tourmaster, if it works well with the 1X12,
then maybe two Tourmasters may be the answer for our youth program (were trannin em right).
or Tourmaster/ Used Mod 50
(unfortunately, our youth program dosent have the time to wait for a new Mod50 othewise we would)

BTW... We are also getting the Ampeg SVTVR head and Ampeg 4X10 HLF for Bass
Of course big church gets to use all of it as well........

How does the eggie bassman sound compare when played through a 1X12 as compared to a 4X10 cabnet

Goin to church is a goooood thing :D
eggies for Jesus!
Thanks
Angelo

Oh yeah, the Bassman totally kicks........although I did trade mine

I just had to try the T/D and needed to swap instead. But I will have another bassman!!

I love channel B, that fat grind just kills. I hit that with a boost pedal and it just gives it another dimension. So very cool.

Based on everyone here's advice, I have the bassman and SL2 coming with my MOD50 head that's being built.

With that said, I do so look forward to M.O.D.U.L.E. G.A.S.

Yep I agree B'Man module is amazing. In fact here is a clip from me playing an Eggie MOD50 with the Bassman module in both "clean" Channel A and then later in the clip "pushed" Channel B. MOD 50 has TungSol 5881's in low power mode Master at about 1:00. Playing a Am Ser tele, VintageVibe custom PUPs, Mojojtone mini 4x12 style 2x12 cab with Warehouse v30's. Single SM57 on the top speaker just slightly off where the dustcap meets the cone.

Few disclaimers...

1) This is the first live performace for me in 8 years and I am sloppy and off time quite a bit
2) This was live a few weeks ago at a Holiday party for work. The band is made up of guys from work whom i have never played with before. Before this show we had only practiced 8 times
3) The band I am playing with has never played a shuffle feel or the blues before they met me. But I think they do a good job regardless.
4) Vocalist is a bit nervous to start with and a bit flat (she is really good though) and the bass is a bit out of tune.
5) Recording is straight off the sound board no real mix or master so pops, redlines, crackles and such are all over this puppy haha

OK enough already make fun of me al you want here it is

Dude! I really, REALLY liked that. Very nice playing and very tasty tone!!! Thanks for posting. After listening to that I need to turn on my Bassman right now!

Tele, that sounds awesome man! I don't think I'd have the skills to make fun of you!! Love it

Thanks for the kind words boys. As I cut the video footage for this I notice we have a few other songs in diff styles and i use a few other modules and guitars. I can keep posting clips if you want to hear the MOD50 in some diff ways. Don't wanna waste anyones time so let me know

Totally agree. Bman gets my favorite Egnater clean tones. Second choice SL on a low gain setting.

Please please................Post away. I totally enjoyed it and the mojo is there.

Dann Huff once told me in a conversation after he heard some of my scratch ruff vocals he was laying tracks for,"Dont sweat the small stuff like vocal trails, vibrato etc, it all...... works itself out as you keep doing it"

Looking forward to more posts

I love the B'Man! I spoke to Bruce a while ago looking for a particular gritty tone I could use for both guitar and bass, and he suggested the B'Man. Boy, was it a good suggestion! I love it clean, I love it dirty. I love it on guitar, I love it on bass. A *great* module. It can be nasty, twangy, or funky, depending what you do with it. :)

Great recording and playing, Telefied! I've always liked the Bassman module, but since I took out the 6L6 tubes and put Tung Sol 5881's in, I LOVE it, can't stop playing!

Bass, mmm.............. Orren, did you hook up the mod 50 to a bass cab when you tried it with the bassman module?

would the mod50 work with a 4x10 or 8x10 bass cab or others? if the ohms were matching up of course.

thanks
Angelo

Hey Tele, that was some smokin playing Dude!Feel free to post away. The B'man is a definite fav,but so are all the others,DAMN I LOVE THE MOD

Cripes dudes you guys are too kind. I have not played out or in a band in like 8 years. This has been so much fun and to not get boo'd and hissed by y'all makes me wanna pick it up and start a real band again. Thanks!

As requested here are more clips from the same party/show. Keep in mind the band only had 8 practices and each tune features a diff vocalist (some better than others) :)

This cut is a cover of Chuck Berry's "Run Rudolph Run" with some inspiration from Brian Setzer. Same rig as before but this time the lead at the end is the SL2 module Channel A gain at about 12:00 noon.

http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6081316.

This is the last cut I have from the gig dumped and converted. It is a "pop punk" sorta cover of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town". This vocalist is a rocker he is a bit nervous and flat at times but in practiced he ruled. This is a bit different setup. Here we have the MOD50 TungSol 5881's (I agree these rule with the Bassman!) but this time in HIGH POWER mode. You are hearing the SL2 module Channel A gain at about 2:00. Master Volume is at 12:00. Diff guita. This is a Lester Classic but with a 'hot rodded" Gibson 500T at the bridge.

Sorry no solo on this tune :(

Nope, I played it through the same 1x12 I have for guitar.
