Which Bogner for me?

I need to cover a bunch of ground. Tunes ranging from pop/country (Gretchen Wilson, Rascal Flatts, etc) to 80's stuff (Journey, Styx, Boston) to blues/rock (Allman bros, Gov't mule, Zep) to new stuff like Katy Perry, Pink, Paramore, Muse)...whew!

I currently use my Egnater M4 with a bunch of modules, but have that gassy feeling again :D

Typically, I can gain up/down via guitar volume that gets me where I need to be. Seems what I really am looking for is more gain stages for different textures...

So, is there a Bogner for me? 20th XTC?

I'd say Bogner Shiva 20th with 6550.

The Ecstasy is an amazing amp, no doubt, but I don't think you need the higher gain stuff so much. AND the Shiva can get plenty heavy. You'll get a better clean channel, in fact the best clean channel Bogner makes, and awesome crunch...plus the amp costs less than the XTC, which is always a good thing.

My knee jerk reaction was 20thA XTC.

But I have to agree with Nico, and in re=reading your list of covers, the 20thA Shiva would do this in spades!! DAMN I wants me some Sheevs!!!

There ya have it, and let me also say this, the Shiva is a tonal dream  I own the 20thA XTC and I still yearn for the Sheevs, just because it's THAT good!!

Me too Mo. And you need to get the Einstein as well. Kick ass!!!

Let's seeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, 20thA XTC, 20thA Shiva, Diezel VH4S, Diezel Einstein, Mako Mak4, Fryette 2/90/2, boutique combos, and a mess of guitars...

Yep. No psychological problems here :loco:

It's a sickness, but damn I love my tones!!

Peace,
V.

So would you say the Shiva is more in the Marshall camp than the XTC? I guess I find myself leaning more towards that grind as my go to starting point...

And, how/where do I get/order one?

Thanks for the input

I am really digging my 20th xtc I bought a few weeks ago. I just played my first show with it this past weekend and it did a very good job at everything I threw at it. Anything from Johnny Cash to Drowning pool!

If you want to buy it new, Tone Merchants is a Bogner dealer...

If you want used I suggest you look at the Classifieds from Rig Talk, and post a Want to Buy (WTB) add...

And Yes the Shiva is more in the Marshall camp, and the Ecstasy is a more modded higher gain more compressed tone

Tone merchants does NOT carry Bogner, at least for now.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, apparently something went a wee bit sideways not too long ago. Not sure what the scoop is, but you can always email Rob at rob@tonemerchants.com to get the skinny.
