I just got a herbert ...Wow! I love it

Only thing is its playing thru a marshall cab which i dont think is a perfect fit

Can anyone recommend which of the 4 * 12 cabs fit best with the herbert

Thanks

Also... Im assuming I can use any midi foot controller to control the amp right? as long as it can send midi

I'm a big fan of V30s with the Herbert. I've got a pair of Mesa Cabs with V30s in them and they sound fantastic with the Herbert. I got the Mesa's used and cheap, so price was the deciding factor for me, but the obvious choice would be the Diezel 4x12s if price isn't an issue. Other than that, I've heard good responses from other Diezel owners on Orange, Bogner and Mills Acoustic cabs.

Imo there is nothing wrong with an old school Marshall cab. But as far as new cabs go in no particular order, it's Diezel of course(front loaded is tightest of all but despite what alot of people say, when broken in, is actually pretty warm so the cleans are still good and I only imagine the new German production will kill all cabs I mention), Bogner (if you like a chewier feel, uber cab is tighter than the standard, I actually prefer the standard and compensate tightness in my eq.), Orange, great sound, tight and warm, not as tight as a front loaded Diezel, like a love child of the Bogner and Diezel) I can't comment on Mills cabs though.

SO...

Diezel: If tightness is most important and you use ALOT of bass in your sound, front loaded will 9 out of 10 always stay together better in that situation.

Bogner: If a smooth lead sound is most important, still a great rythmn though.

Orange: If you want it tight but not overly so, but value a smooth lead. I'm sure the new Diezel rearloaded will be similar/better as Peter was asking about these before production began.

But, there's my insight/opinion.
