Which Is The Darker Module?

EG5 is definitely the brightest. Not sure which is darker between MHG and EG3/4. I dont have either anymore but judging from memory I think the EG3/4 was darker.
 
I've never played an MHG, but I'll play the dark to bright ranking game with the modules I've owned:

EG 3/4 (dark as espresso)
Erect
Bman
SL
SL2
VX
EG5 (bright! but still awesome)
 
Thanks. Then maybe I want to keep the MHG and sell the EG3/4.
 
The MHG I played was a single channel which are, to my ears a little darker in general than the dual channel modules. The MHG was very dark, darker than my EG3 at the time.

You like it dark, like me. Challenging live though. i have had to re-interpret my own sound to translate in a live situation. I'm no different than any other guitr player ... I want to be heard!!! :gethim:
 
MHG dark? The EG3/4 is much darker. Here's the ranking dark to bright:

EG3/4
MHG
EG5

The MHG is more like an SL2 that has more gain and is a little tighter. You can make it sizzle with highs and cut with mids. Try it. But don't use too much gain or you'll lose definition and get buried. It has plenty of sustain around 1:00.

I've had all of the modules except the ERECT, and I've compared them side by side in my MOD 100. EG3/4 is dark, just like my Mesa Mark IV's lead channel, with less gain. Smokey - I think that's how they describe it. A good sound if you like your leads with a little less bite.
