Which midi pedals won't power up from the M4?

My ADA MPC takes 9 VDC 1.4 Amps, so it's a no-go. It doesn't even boot up.

What else requires more than the M4's 1 amp current maximum?

I don't want to buy a Ground Control Pro just to find out it won't boot up with my M4. :cry:

I think the GC Pro only boots up if its powered through the GCX, but the GC pro should come with a external a/c adapator though. At least mine did, but I bought it used

Works fine w/ a 7-pin MIDI cable for me. I use the DMC Ground Control Pro, and the M4 / Mod50 powers it just fine!

I love my DMC Ground Control Pro. I've had mine for like 5 years now.

Nm then! :D I have the GCX so I never plugged straight into the M4

Secondly the notion that the GC Pro only boots up if its powered through the GCX is false. I've had the GCX power it, my Lexicon MPXG2 power it, and now the Mod50 / M4 power it w/ no problems.

ADA MC-1 works fine powered from my dual M4.

M4 = 1 AMP supply

MC-1 = 500 mA draw = yep, mine works

MPC = 1.4 Amp draw = Nope, Mine does not work

The Tech 21 MIDI Moose flashes low power in the LED but works. No expression or CC messages just Program Changes.

Be aware of your pedal requirements. The MOD50 and M4 supplies 9 volts AC at a maximum of 1 amp. A pedal that runs on DC will not work with the internal power from the M4/MOD50.

I thought phantom power was DC? :confused: Is that only for mic phantom power?

Awesome, my future MIDI control system was going to be centered around the GCP and the GCX and its good to know that I could use the DCP without the GCX if need be.
