I have 2 Celestion 12T-75's or 2 Eminence Wizards?

well....

One speaker is bad and due to money I have to go with available solutions so, out of the 4x12 I'm not using go two of those and out comes the one good genz speaker.....

why don't you try mixing and matching them? use all three in different combination if you can? see what you like.

+1

Wizards!

(although I am biased I love the wizard and hate the gt75 with a passion.)

Personally, I loved the way it sounded with G12T-75's! The stock speakers were waaaay freakin' dark in comparison!
I can't stand the way Wizards sound in ANY cab! Not a good speaker for what I do, way too honky.

why do you hate 75's, and why do you hate wizards? I was leaning towards the wizards as the 75's seem to have some ice in them that I don tlike....

I hate the icepick highs and the absent midrange of the 75's.

guitar is predominantly a midrange instrument and I find most pleasing articulation and grind in the mids.

Wizards just sound way too fuckin' weird to me...not evil enough!! :gay: Like a V30 with MORE mids and less high end. Kinda makes a boxy tone, I'd hate too see how they'd sound in a G-Flex! And it's very overpowering when mixed with other speakers!

Exactly why I like them, predominant midrange . like a v30 and greenback mixed IMO. forward mid grind, tight bottom, not so piercing highs.

If it was boxy to you it was your setup/settings boxy is the last thing I would call them. I am playing extreme metal with them and they are plenty evil. it sounds like you like scooped sounds which i detest. cut your mids and you disappear in the mix.

I had mine in a port city cab so I know it works well in a ported cabinet.

as for them not mixing well with other speakers, well if you didn't take into account the sensitivity ratings of your speakers before you mixed them, the joke is on you.

it mixes well with a swamp thing and a tone tubby ceramic, two other speakers with 102 DB sensitivity. it would also pair up with the cannabis rex, cannabis major and Im sure there are other 102 db speakers out there.

When I had my ear candy cab. They recommended the wizards for what I wanted. They really sounded great in that ported cab. I tried them in other cabs did not like them as much. I think they are a great match for the ported cab.

i have been doing some research on ported cabs latley,..and to get the most of that ported cab the more cone movement your speakers have the better the porting will work...as far as what sound your looking for is up to you,...i would try every combination ya have available...including wiring them in series!....take some pics when ya do it,..i am interested in what the inside of that thing looks like.

good luck

i ended up putting the wizards in there. I didnt hear the sound direct at new years, as I had the Avatar with the 12T75's on top, but the sound guy mic'd the G-flex. He said it was a little dark, but also said it was more than likely the mic position as it was off the center by about 4 cm.
