Just picked up a Soldano x88 (Thanks Tone Jones). I am looking to purchase a VHT power amp. Anyone have any input on the VHT 2150? I heard the older (larger) ones are better.

Maybe, my 2150 just isn't as well tuned as I thought it was. My 2150 sounded thin and dead in a way.
The VV crushes, and screams. It stays THICK and compresses just right on the leads. OMG. I can't believe how good it sounds. It's SOOO nice to see the word "Egnater" on my power amp, even if Rocktron built it.
ATM, this is my end-all power amp. I think.![]()

I would've liked to try out the engl power amps...nobody in my area had them when I bought the vhts.paulyc":26mxuprj said:2150...I tried an Engl out once that was better than the smaller VHT ones...can't remember the model number though..
