Does anyone know who builds the 4x12 cabinets for Mark?

I was told that the guy who makes the Rivera cabs also does Marks cabinets. But Marks caps are designed differently. Marks cabs have a gap between the speaker cloth and the baffle.

it may be the same guy who does bogners to... he is a spanish dude, cant remember his name...

This is what I have heard also. Does anyone have any contact info?

I do believe Steve is right. I used to remember right off. Been a while.
I found out from Charlie at Bogner.
This guy used to make all the Bogner cabs. In fact I think he still does.

Yeah, in addition to Bogner and Rivera, I think he did the US Diezel cabs and CAA. May be wrong though. Cab subcontrctors are tight lipped. You can bet whoever builds for California distribution is fairly local to cut down on shipping.

Vic won't sell single cabs; I think his minimum order is still 10 cabs. Also, good luck getting him on the phone. He and MojoTone pretty much have the cab market sewn up.

Victor used to build my cabs. Minimum order of 10. He won't use custom/Marshall tolex or cloth unless it's the cheapest/most popular stuff he uses for the Bogner cabs, or his other bigger clients. I even tried to buy it and send it to him but he refused. So that wasn't helping. His work is very good, his delivery time frames are crap. I'd place an order in July for the LA AMP Show (1st weekend in October), and I'd get an excuse in mid December. The last excuse I got (this is rich!) was that his son in law cut his testicles off in the shop and they were spending all their free time driving to Mexico to see doctors to get them re-attached.

I cut him loose after that one in late 2007. He's since contacted me about doing my cabs again, and I said "Not just no, but f**k no!"

There are 4-5 cab makers here in So Cal, not all of them known on the net.

I use a local cab maker now who does it the way I want it done, which happily for me, was the way he already did them. Cabs take 3-5 weeks, no runs, no drips, no errors. Hard to complain, and I can drive 20 miles to his place and pick them up, so each trip is $10-12 in gas. Beats the crap out of shipping.

And just to clarify a previous post I read, all grill cloth has to be raised/separated from the baffle board by at least 1/8". That's because if you play loud the cloth will stretch out, then snap back on the baffle board. Not exactly a pleasing tone when you're mic'd!

We have to use that in the "Rig Talk Top 10 Excuses for Late Delivery"!

So how does it work? Do you pay 50% up front then wait till they are finished? People running a business may not have the capital to wait for their cabinets let alone not receiving the product they are trying to sell.

Can you lend me $20,000 and you'll get $5000 after the first 3 amps sell?

If you're talking about ordering a cab from me, yeah, 50% down, balance/shipping/packing costs/etc. when I ship.

If you're talking about me ordering cabs, I buy the Marshall tolex/cloth/piping, supply my handles & casters to the cab guy to install. When I get the cabs, I install speakers/logos/wire/jacks and test the cab, then pack it and ship it.
My cab guy just has the BB3 baltic birch plywood and labor to pay for. My cab guy has built me 48 cabs since the first order I placed in May, or roughly 7-8 per month.

Victor is supplied his working capital by Bogner, and his other clients, I never did that since I never knew when I'd see the cabs. Hell, I sent up the prototype to him in an ATA case, and he sat on it for four months before he looked at it, or contacted me about it, despite leaving numerous voice mails. I had just decided to have Fedex pick it up and work with someone else when he did call me. In hindsight...LOL.

Great cabs too! Really move some air. Need to try my hand at tolex though. I am tired of the bare wood look.

So, how did the son in law make out with getting his juevos reattached or is he singing soprano?
