Just wondering if that was one of Mark's amps or an actual Arredondo modified Marshall. It sounded ridiculously good.

That was an actual Jose Arredondo modded Marshall in the shootout

That amp did sound unreal, better than any modern mod in its purity. It didn't sound like overdriven Zeners, just pure crunch tone. It was awesome.

Hey Dan did we meet there? Im not good with names and faces.

oh I think I figured it out. Were you helping James play stuff.

didn't sound that different from the Marsha and the '76 Friedman

Hey Jerry,

No i wasn't there at the shootout, although i would have liked to have been there :)

I live near London in the UK  So i'm a bit too far away to make it along to the ampfests haha!

I thought there were several comments that the amp was very bright and trebly?

Yeah i remember James Lugo saying that the amp was super bright and stayed very bright even with the treble and presence set low

Yeah I brought that amp and it is not the best example of a Jose we has to turn the treb and presence off or really low to get it to sound right. There is no clipping diodes in that amp. Dave

I thought that was a common characteristic of Jose amps. (being very bright and treble-ish)

But the ones that were done right with the diodes, you would be hard pressed to pick them out of that cool tone. (that is the average joe guitar player) If you know how a diode functions then you will hear it. Not a bad thing. When done right its a cool addition to the tone. Some big names using a slight diode clip.

Yeah the treble and presence were on zero, very strangely voiced amp, sounded great but dated IMO. I like the Friedman's better, way more fierce and versatile and sound more modern to my ears.

That clip sounded so damn good but you guys were there. Daves stuff is great, no doubt about it!! HBE is like candy and I'm the fat kid that can't get enough. Ok stupid analogy.

The Jose may have been bright but it had the sweetest highs. It would of been nice to hear it in person to really know.

I liked the voicing myself. maybe a with a lil more hair or mids?
