Why am i attracted to this?

If I was a floyd guy I'd rock it.

If they play well, you could get 10 for the price of one god damn LP axxcess

yea dude, i love floyds...don't get me wrong, i love hardtail guitars too, but a good floyd guitar is just the tits!

I'd rather have the LTD EC1000. If it's not a traditional strat maple boards seem way wrong to me.

dude i'll probably end up with an Edwards LPC but god i just love weird guitars with maple boards and pointy headstocks lolololol

I used to love a maple board vs rosewood when I played strats. Really snappy.

I wasn't disappointed in my Edwards LP. Thing is a sweet machine and it isn't even the one I really wanted. Tough to beat a killer LP for $600 bucks. The rosewood on it is dark and slick as ice. My preference is Ebony but it's such a nice board that I couldn't complain. Scottosan bought the same one a few months ago. The honey burst. I didn't like the finish but it was like a woman who is modestly attractive but is amazing in the kitchen and the bedroom. How can you not love her?

All I own are ESP tied guitars now. The factory setups are always decent compared to a lot of other guitars. I have an Edwards ES, an LP, and now an LTD Viper. That Edwards ES is my main player. Low, buzz free action out of the box, beautiful '59 carve neck, EBONY board. I did yank the Seth Lovers and replaced them with '57 classics, which are just, classic IMO. I'll be cranking her up down in New Braunfels tonite!!!

Yep this is one of the best things about ESP/Edwards/etc

The factory setups are always insanely good compared to some of the other big brands.

I got a maple board on my strat, and this Jackson Warrior. FWIW, I like richlite, ebony, maple, rosewood...in that order. The Ibanez bass here has richlite board

What do you like so much about richlite? I've no beef with it and it seems like it'd be great for a gigging instrument, just not paying 5k+ for a Gibson 355 that has a richlite board. I was looking at some 77 guitars exrubato JT ES guitars and they are using micarta. Wonder what that sounds like....

It's usually more uniform in color; it's harder than any other fretboard woods; it doesn't wear fast,... the bass above has a black richlite fretboard with some blue in it; richlite can be dyed any color as well, e.g., those Brendan Small guitars with white richlite boards.

I got a Steinberger L guitar and bass back in the late '80s early '90s, my first instruments with phenolic (precursor to or form of richlite) and EMGs.

I finally sold my '88 Steinberger XL2 bass earlier this year, which I purchased new around '89:

I don't mind the richlite either - the QC from richlite era Gibsons is what I've had problems with 😂
