Why did Vai pick all brown for the legacy colour scheme?

I mean, I love the carvin legacy. I should've bought the one locally, but I hesitated and it was gone.

I mean, why couldn't it have been navy blue with cream chicken head knobs?

or maroon leather with all black knobs and panel?

I think steve has mentioned a 3 channel legacy in the works. I wonder if people will start saying that the 2 ch ones are better and have more brewtulz after it comes out :p

I'm more interested in the jemini though. DS1 and TS9 in one awesome swirly pedal

I like brown

Poop makes me laugh
I like dark skinned chicks
I'm a Ween fan

That is one of the best ideas I've ever heard.

Ibanez, you can see the prototype in this video at 1:20

EDIT- It will be released at winter namm, which starts on jan 27. I hope the swirl finish stays

That pedal looks like it could have real potential. I also like the idea of having your guitar speakers in front of you like a monitor rather than behind you blasting the sound at your ass. Good idea Steve!

The Legacy is not a bad looking amp. The tolex is black, so it's just the face plate and grill that are brown. I found that it's easily fixable!

:D

And yes, there is a new 3 channel Legacy in the works. There is a lot of speculation on the Carvin forums as to what the third channel will sound like. Personally, I'm hoping for the lead channel from the Bel-Air series... but I think that I'm asking too much there... lol!

Steve has just verified my thoughts. I've had 2 or 3 Legacy heads. I could never get a good "clean" or a clean definition on the overdrive side. Hey - I gave the head 3 chances...I really wanted it to work. So look what the Master himself is doing. He has a Fender amp in the middle of the Legacy Stereo setup. That will give you what you need. I wonder where this need was when Steve was designing the amps? HMMMMMM

Maybe I'm miss understanding you but why would you want or need cleans on the overdrive channel, it's that what the clean channel is for?

Its a misunderstanding....I was refering to a good clean on the clean channel AND/or CLEAN definition on the overdrive channel.

While I will agree that the clean channel is a bear to dial in, I think that the definition on the lead channel is quite good. It really depends on what pickups you are using. For example, when I was using a Duncan JB in my Carvin DC127c, I was having issues with note definition; however, after switching the JB out for a DiMarzio Fred I can clearly hear every note in a complex chord, even under high saturation on the lead channel. Just food for thought...

Mine definitely prefers dimarzios. The AN/TZ in my rg sound so much better than the 59s in my schecter

What I found interesting was that he had the V3 there but didn't mention how it fits into the rig. HMMMMM
