Will a MOD50 output transformer work in a Randall RM50?

The MOD50s have Heyboers right?

I really liked how my DSL sounded with a transformer upgrade and I feel like the RM could definitely benefit from it as well.
Mercury offers a replacement however you can only use 6L6s with it and I'm an EL34 user.

So would I be able to purchase the same transformer for a MOD50 and put it in my RM?

Call Trace @ Voodoo amps, as I know he should be able to get a Mecury Magnetics trannie that would support all tubes.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to get the whole rm50 a working over while its there, I loved my voodoo dsl's note clarity. That's part of what I'm looking to ger outta an ot swap.

Yep. I know he can. We've talked about it in the past. (I just got off of the phone w/ Trace regarding something else)...how ironic!!

But, anyways. I know Trace is doing mods to modules..etc. So...getting your RM50 worked over by him would be a good thing IMHO. I loved my Peavey 5150 he modded for me (PT, OT, choke changes)...and my Marshall JMP-1 he modded. My JMP-1 was like the first 1-2 he did. I loved that preamp. Kinda miss it! But not enough to sell my eggie modules..ahahah

Hopefully I can get one sold outright rather than having to send it off.
I'm only down to one "real" amp and we practice 2 nights a week so I can't really send it off for awhile to be modded.

Yeah...I talk to Trace on a pretty regular basis. He told me they were working on a mod for the Randalls...their standard type mods like on other amps..as well as PT / OT changes to Mercury like they've done.

I hear ya on sending it off. I'd send it off though if you could. Let them work on it for a week or so....and be good to go for life!
