Hello guys, I am a new user of MC2 and I would like to buy a wizard 412 cabinet.
I heard that it was made in the same place as Friedman's cabinets. Are there any differences between them?
Due to international shipping and tariffs, the wizard's cabinet will cost nearly $3000 to arrive at my location!!! And Friedman's cabinet only costs $1700. If there is no difference between them, I will choose Friedman. If the wizard is indeed better, then I am also willing to pay a high price.
Or is a Marshall 1960BV also good?
My English is not good, please forgive me.

Hi Jerry,

My understanding was that the Wizard cabs are now manufactured to Rick's specs by KSR. I read a post here where Friedman stated his cabs are not the same as Wizard, so while they are great cabs they aren't the same. If that matters.

"Better" is subjective. Friedman, Bogner, Fryette all make killer cabs and they would definitely be a cheaper option. That said, I have played a Wizard cab with UK greenback with an MCII, my MC1 and w800 and REALLY liked it and I am thinking about getting one myself.

Thank you so much!!!
I understand it.
It seems that I need to consult KSR if they can manufacture a product of the same specifications for me. If possible, this will save me a lot of money.
If not possible, it seems that I can only purchase a Friedman or Bogner cabinet. I am an 80s and Thrash fan. So I would prefer to have a sound that is more like Oldschool Hardrock/Metal.
Which is more suitable for me, Bogner or Friedman?
Thank you again for your help!!!

I use pinky Bogner Uber kabs with both my wizards . It’s the only reason I have the cab . It’s just matches perfectly with them

If it were me and I didn't want to spend the big money on buying/shipping a new Wizard cab, I would second @Techdeth and recommend an Ubercab. I normally dislike a v30/t75 speaker combo, but in that cab it works awesome....and will absolutely do the hard rock and thrash tones you are after.

While I have not run my Wizards through an Ubercab (yet), I have done a boosted JMP 2203 through one and it was amazing for the kind of tones you are after! For build quality, Bogner cabs are some of the best you can buy IMO.

Try a wizard through it someday . It’s a great combo .

Neither. For that type of tone a Marshall 4x12 is what you want, preferably a JCM800 one from the 80's. All the different cabs mentioned here are great but Marshalls sound the most rude and in your face compared to Bogner, Friedman and Wizard cabs.

Thank you. My friend has an uberkab, I will try it.
