I clammed up the intro solo pretty bad but I wanted to get a clip this weekend up of the Wizard. My recording experience is minimal and so it in no way sounds nearly as massive as the Wizard sounds in the room. Also I did not editing, even the click track is still present from the backing track.

Forgive the clams and enjoy 30 seconds of the Breaking the Chains Intro... I want to get some more clips up of this amp as it is just incredible!

Sounds good! I heard the Metal and Modern Classic at the Nashville Amp show and they sound absolutely amazing but man they are loud.

Thanks for commenting.... 42 views and no comments I thought it must be worse than I thought!

:D

If you are playing the Modern Classic and on the Rhythm channel there is no master volume. Boost in is Hiwatt and Boost on is Plexi and man it gets loud fast and will rip your head off. On the high gain or lead channel there is a gain boost and a lead boost and this channel has a master that works really well. Once you get to 1 it is decent for bedroom playing but really comes to life about 3. This clip was done between 1 and 3 in my home studio and was not overly loud. Well the wife could hear in the other room. We jam/practice at gig volumes and I keep the Wizard between 2 and 3. The other guitarist plays Elmwoods and this combination together sounds great. The harmonic complexity of both amps just really mix well and sit in the mix perfectly.

I am going to put some more clips out in the next two weeks of different types of music and spend more time with mic placement and not just doing one take so the playing sounds decent LOL. This clip was with no post anything, just record and bounce to mp3 and done! With some tweaking and time this amp has great recording potential. Not to mention live it just flat out slays!!!

Sounds cool Tim. Has some snarl to it!

Thanks George. I really should hold off and get things down better before putting out clips. But I am very inexperienced at recording. I thought for just setting up a SM57 and a Cad Trion 7000 for room ambience into a Profire 610 to Pro Tools 8 M with no post anything it came out cool sounding. I think the lead was too hot but the guitar, bass, and drums seem to sit well in the mix... At least I thought they did. However this is the type of input I am looking for from others that have a good trained ear, does everything sit well, does the guitar tone sound good overall, tips on getting things done better, etc.... However I have not gotten much input with all the views......

I don't think anyone gets many replies to clips anymore. So don't sweat it. Recording is alot of trial and error. Backing tracks some are good, some are not. Some just can't be mixed especially if they are low quality software midi drum kits, those cymbals sound terrible!

On these speakers the rhythm guitar sounds a bit low compared to the backing. Just keep at it and try different mic placements....makes a big difference.

Guitar sounds totally buried or distant or something...can't say I was a fan of the tone either....I can't record for toffee either, so no advice....it just sounded wrong to me.

That is interesting... Were you using studio speakers, laptop speakers, headphones? I am curious because through my headphones the guitar does not sound distant at all, it is panned a bit so maybe that is it. Thanks for the comments as that is what I am looking for, just wanting to understand more to work on the issues!!!!

Did you mix on headphones? Depending on the phones used, they can make the bass end up too loud over reg speakers.....

I mixed going back and forth on studio monitors and headphones, they are Sony headphones. What is common practice for mixing? Using monitors or headphones?
