WOT:Japan detergent suicide sparks panic

Hydrogen Sulfide suicides are the latest rage over there. The government is trying to crack down on them, but more and more people die from them every day. The latest death I heard about was Miyuki Asou, a gravure idol who later turned to JAV since she couldn't become popular. They actually have online forums promoting and teaching people how to do this. Take a look at this chart:

The left number shows the days (think April 10th, 11th, 12th, etc.), the middle column shows where the deaths occurred, and the right number shows how many people died of Hydrogen Sulfide that day. The second to last word on the left column says "Yesterday" and the very bottom word on the left column says "Today."
 
Do they know something we don't? Is it FUN to off yourself? :confused: I thought it would kinda be a drag. :dunno:

Japan has one of the highest suicide rates in the world. It comes from their old "samurai" mentality where it's more honorable to kill yourself than to be without a master or to live with shame (look up seppuku). Before this gas method, people used to jump onto the train tracks. However, every time they'd do that, the train would have to stop and the tracks would need to be cleaned. In a society that relies on public transportation for their main method of travel, it caused lots of delays and tax payer's money. Now, whenever someone does that, they bill the family pay for the clean-up.

More people are moving to gas since it's easier and not as extreme. However, a lot of those who kill themselves with gas don't know how dangerous it is to other people around them. The others just don't care about anyone else's well-being. Suicide rates have been on the rise since the 90s due to unemployment and social bullying.
 
That is crazy, so whats that Charcoal Burning method they mention :confused:

They just light charcoal in a real small room. Sometimes they get a group of people together and they have a happy little mass-suicide party thing. It's similar to someone starting a car and letting it run in the garage w/ the door closed.
