Was wondering if this G Labs SA-1 unit would work for my 20th Shiva's series effects loop? My send signal is a little hot and making my Timeline and Reverb pedals sound a little harsh and not as clear as they should. I'm wanting to bring down the send level from the amp send and then boost it back up a little for my loop return. Here's what I'm looking at...

Or should I get the same unit with the cable adaptor that plugs in the loop like this...

OR is there ANYTHING else or any other unit I could get to make my Shiva's loop clearer and more pedal friendly? Yes I've tried everything under the sun to get the Shiva loop to sound better. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Anybody at all? This unit seems perfect for "not so great" hot loops like some Bogners, Especially the Shiva.

I think I have told you this before. Track down an Egnater Loop Level Matcher (aka "Loop Gadget"). It will solve all of your loop problems with this amp, as well as any and every amp you own or ever will own.

You can email Bruce and see if he has any left: begnater@aol.com

Otherwise, you'll need to post a "WTB" Classified ad. Not many of them were made.

Good luck.

Yes I remember your suggestions. Already done what you've posted. Already emailed Bruce, no reply. Already posted "WTB", no replies. The Egnater Loop Matcher was a very small limited run. this G Labs Loop Adaptor should do the trick. I was just wanting to hear if anybody has had experience with it. thanks though.

The G Labs unit is pretty much just like the Egnater Level Matcher your talking about. I've seen a couple pics of the unit on pedalboards that have Shiva and Bogner footswitches, so surely it with make my Shiva loop way more balanced and delays and mods clearer. If not then I'm just getting a whole new loop installed in the amp. I'm really picky when it comes to my delays and modulations in the effects loop.

So the G Labs SA-1 made the 20th Shiva effects loop WAY better. The modulation and delay effects are so much clearer and cleaner. Attenuate the Send from amp and Boost back the return with about the same level as attenuated. Finally I can go back to making music.
